Agent Oriented Software Limited, the AOS Group's UK company, won a hotly contested research tender from the Ministry of Defence (MoD). AOS Limited is the prime contractor with QinetiQ Limited, Pennsylvania State University and The University of Melbourne as subcontractors.

Contract awarded: http://www.mod.uk/business/excel/competit_2001.htm (see RT/COM/3/006).

The research will employ AOS's intelligent software agent product, JACK™, as its technological base. JACK provides a generic architecture for collaboration and control of complex systems and has a strong user base in in simulation. Over the past few years, agent technology has proven itself in military simulation systems in the UK, Australia, Canada, France and Japan, so JACK agents are a natural foundation for intelligent Computer Generated Forces (CGF) in the HV-CGF scenario.
