The consulting arm was formed
to provide customers with support in incorporating intelligent
agent capabilities into their products or systems. In the
current competitive market where software is crucial to the
success of a company,
organizations
need to deliver innovative software solutions that meet the
level of quality and usability consumers demand. This can only
be achieved if the company has ready access to a pool of top-class
software engineers and project managers.
AOS has very experienced software architects and managers,
as well as talented designers and programmers. AOS regards
its staff as its primary asset, and it only employs people
of the highest quality. The core AOS team has worked together
for 15 years, and has a great deal of experience in extracting
requirements and interacting with clients towards the specification
of architecture, design and infrastructure.
All development at AOS is carried out using our internal
software development processes, which follow industrial best
practice. AOS is willing to and capable of providing additional
documentation, testing and support services beyond those demanded
by our quality procedures. AOS is experienced at managing
software development across multiple sites and with multiple
stakeholders providing requirements, domain expertise and
technical input.
AOS has technical writers with excellent skills and experience,
and all AOS documentation is edited externally for an additional
level of quality assurance. AOS has experience producing all
kinds of documentation, including online manuals and help,
tutorials and practicals.

Enabling Technology
AOS's flagship product, JACK
is a Java-based agent oriented programming environment. Agent
oriented programming facilitates the implementation of autonomous
computational entities, or agents that exhibit rational decision-making
behavior.
The autonomous nature of these agents makes them ideally suited
to solving problems of a distributed and real-time nature. This
technology includes state-of-the-art intelligent server functionality
(JACK Webbot), providing
unrivaled
intelligent back-end capability for web-based and wireless applications.
JACK Webbot is the only product that uses intelligent
agent technology to provide
personalized
content delivery. Wireless display media place tight constraints
on what should be delivered to the user and when it should be
delivered. By automatically adapting to the user's requirements,
JACK Webbot provides the user with a highly-tailored interaction.
First Flight — True UAV Autonomy At Last
Melbourne, Australia, 6th July 2004.
In a world first, truly autonomous, Intelligent Agent-controlled flight was achieved by a Codarra ‘Avatar’ unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The flight tests were conducted in restricted airspace at the Australian Army’s Graytown Range about 60 miles north of Melbourne. The Avatar was guided by an on-board JACK™ intelligent software agent that directed the aircraft’s autopilot during the course of the mission.
