December 14th, 2004, "AOS Joins CMU's Red Team for DARPA Grand Challenge"

Pittsburg, Pennsylvania — Carnegie Mellon University’s Red Team is fielding two robotic vehicles in the second DARPA Grand Challenge, October 8th 2005. At stake is a $2 million winner-take-all prize plus the prestige of successfully developing a fully autonomous vehicle capable of navigating almost 200 miles across the Mojave Desert without human assistance.

AOS’s JACK™ Intelligent Agents software has already been installed on the Red Team testbed, and in the New Year work will commence on integrating JACK intelligent reasoning capability into several on-board systems.

“AOS was delighted by the offer to join the Red Team and to participate in the DARPA Grand Challenge,” said Andrew Lucas, Group CEO. “We see this event as an exciting way to promote the capabilities of autonomous, robotic technology in a real-life competition and to show the world what our JACK software can do.”

November 12th, 2004, "AOS a winner in prestigious UK Trade & Investment International Business Awards"

The UK Government has announced these awards as a celebration of Australian business success in the UK, demonstrating Australia's business and entrepreneurial skills at their best. Announced by Trade Minister Mark Vaile in May, the UK Trade & Investment International Business Awards achievement by Australian-owned operations that have set up in the UK, or entered into a joint venture or research collaboration there.

Agent Oriented Software was the Winner of “New Business Entrant”.


“We are pioneers in intelligent agent technology and expanded so that we could lead the emerging market for the technology in some of the most commercially demanding and innovative areas such as the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States,” explained Tony Delaney, Manager Enterprise Applications.

“The UK has exceptionally strong aerospace and industries so it was a natural choice for our strategic European hub.  In addition, several of our systems integrator partners had significant customers and contacts in the UK so our operation was viable very quickly.
